Pyramid Party Takes Shape

Celebrate Lake Mills on Saturday, Aug. 15 at the First Annual Pyramid Party. The all day event centered on Commons Park, with feature food, music, shopping and recreation activities for everyone in the family.
"This is the date we have previously held Beach Bash," said Chamber Executive Director Kate Anderson. 'We decided to revamp the event to make it fit more with our mission to promote Lake Mills businesses." The majority of events have been moved to downtown Lake Mills; restaurants will offer special items and samples at their locations.
A Pyramid Party button went on sale starting the first week in August. The button is selling for $5. Businesses will be giving special deals to the wearers that day, some businesses will be running specials for the whole month of August. Buttons will be available at participating businesses. A flyer listing the specials will be available at the businesses, in The Lake Mills Leader and at Chamber office.
Events start at 9 a.m. with beach volleyball at Sandy Beach. There will be tournaments for men's, women's and co-ed teams. Cash prizes will be awarded. Anyone interested in entering should call Jane Jardine at (920) 723-9632.
A guided bird tour of Zeloski Marsh by Master Birder Nolan Kollath will start at 2 p.m. Participants should meet in the parking lot off of Finch Brothers Road off of County Road S.
From 4 to 6 p.m. the Rock Lake Activity Center (RLAC) will be holding a family sock hop with games in the pavilion in Commons Park.
The Taste of Lake Mills will go from 4 until 8 p.m. with tasting specials and live musicians on the sidewalks.
Starting at 7:30 p.m. local band Heartbreaker will be playing in the gazebo in Commons Park. There will also be a beer garden, entry is $3 or free with a Pyramid Party button.
